Dear Delegates, Please plan to arrive a day earlier so that you have ample time to register yourself and not miss the opening ceremony on 14 June. Most international air flights arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), located about 360km from Penang Island. Some will arrive at Penang International Airport (PEN), which is on Penang Island itself. If you are arriving at KLIA, take a connecting flight from KLIA to the Penang International Airport at Bayan Lepas and then a taxi from the Penang International Airport to the Parkroyal Penang Resort which is situated in Batu Feringghi, about 30 km from the airport. Taxi fare from the airport to Batu Feringghi is RM 60. A much cheaper but more arduous method is by Rapid bus no. 102 which will cost you approximately RM 4 but could take up to one and a half or two hours (travel time and waiting time). More information on Rapid bus services is available on http://www.rapidpg.com.my/. For local presenters: If you're travelling by coach/bus, you will arrive at the Sungai Nibong Bus terminal (Terminal Bas Ekspres Sungai Nibong). From there you can take a taxi to Batu Feringghi for about RM 45. Rapid buses also make trips between the bus terminal and Batu Feringghi for a fraction of that price. Please refer to the link above to plan your journey. We strongly recommend presenters to prepare their presentation(s) using Microsoft PowerPoint for PC. You are also advised to bring a back-up copy of your presentation (saved into a thumb/pen drive or on a CDR) to the conference. Presenters are required to submit their PowerPoint presentation(s) to the Secretariat during registration. This is to ensure the smooth running of the parallel sessions which will be on a tight schedule due to the large number of papers. If you are using specialized fonts in your presentation, please be sure to embed the fonts by choosing ‘embed true type fonts’ option when saving your PowerPoint slides. Alternatively, you can also save your file in .pdf format or copy the fonts you are using and pass them to the computer technician on duty during registration. Presenters are responsible for making copies of their own handouts where necessary. If you wish for members of the audience to have a hardcopy of your paper during your presentation, please make your own copies and bring them to the conference. We regret to inform presenters that we do not provide printing and photocopying facilities. However, if you need to print or make copies of your paper during the conference, you are welcome to use the services provided by the hotel at your own expense. If your presentation requires you to use embedded video/audio files, please inform the conference secretariat before the event. A chairperson will be assigned for each session. Please ensure that you are in the presentation room at least 15 minutes before your session starts. Each presenter in a parallel session is allowed 20 minutes. A 10-minute Q&A will be shared among the presenters at the end of the session. It is important that you do not exceed your allotted time. Last but not least, please be informed that the dress theme for the Conference Dinner on 14th June is Traditional so please do bring along your traditional attire.
